Resumo

inequality is a common feature of modern society. Most nations struggle to address this issue which can negatively impact the quality of life of their citizens. After the covid-19 pandemic, this subject deserves special attention. This work intends to answer to the main research question: how a tax policy can be designed to combat social inequality?. In order to achieve such goal, this research starts with a discussion of the definition of inequality and perspectives to be adopted. Later, it proposes guidelines for the policy design process, based on a broad perspective of inequality, which includes social and economic indicators.
