About the Journal
Focus and Scope
The RDA (Revista de Direito e Atualidades) is an University Extension Project associated with IDP (Brazilian Institute of Education, Development and Research) that has as content academic, scientific and cultural articles intended to present to our readers a qualified debate on the many spectrums associated with the Law.
The Law Review, thought by undergraduate students of the Brazilian Institute of Education, Development and Research (IDP), values the proximity of Law Academics, in several degrees of education, with highly relevant subjects of Law, and, in doing so, stimulate research, critical thinking and academic writing.
Relevant matters of the Law are to be discussed in the articles, not only within the Brazilian context, but also welcoming matters from abroad.
The first section of the journal consists of articles written by distinguished guests, invited by the Managing Board. The second section is composed by undergraduate student’s articles from all over the country, specially from IDP, approved by the Double Blind Review system, a guarantee of content quality since its first edition.
Each article must be built around contexts associated with the Law, and therefore, can approach its most broad sub-divided specters, aiming the dissemination and enhancement of academic and scientific relevant topics.
Peer Review Process
The RDA adopts the Double-Blind review process when evaluating the submitted articles. Therefore, when submitting a paper to the journal, the author(s) cannot identify themselves within the text, or else the article will be automatically disregarded. When submitting the text, the information regarding the authorship of the article is to be registered in the submission form. The evaluation process will bound by the following procedures:
- The Managing Board will analyze if the submitted article is within the editorial policy of the journal and if it follows academic writing format - if it doesn’t, the Managing Board will return the article to its authors, granting a period of time for correction.
- If approved in the first step, the Managing Board will send forward the article, with no author identification, to two external evaluators, chosen by their notable knowledge on the subject of dominance in the article.
- The evaluators will deliver their written and detailed opinion, recommending “approval”, “rejection” or “approval with reservations”. In the latter, the article will be returned to the authors, granting a period of time for correction.
- The opinions drafted by the evaluators may point the necessity of indication of literature, structural change, addition or extraction of information. They may also offer critical review, praise, suggestions and other observations deemed adequate, in order to guarantee the improvement of the articles, and to ensure it is in line with the journal’s guidelines.
- The article will be rejected if deemed inadequate beyond repair.
- The Managing Board will select the articles to be published, taking into account the opinions of the evaluators, the relevance of the topic discussed, its singularity in approach, the praiseworth of the description of the object of research, its suitability to the Scientific Method Module and other relevant criteria.
