Abstract

ABSTRACT: This article, thought mainly as a pedagogical contribution, turns specifically to the dialogue with history teachers. The text not only presents some possibilities for approaching the Haitian Revolution in the classroom, but also seeks to question traditional approaches to the subject, discussing their errors and limitations. In this sense, the paper is a relevant pedagogical contribution to history, but also to other areas (such as the law) in which the theme of the Haitian Revolution can be addressed. It should also be noted that, although its immediate audience is teachers, there are interesting possibilities of appropriation of the ideas presented for students and researchers in general.
