Biografia do Autor

Atina Krajewska, University of Birmingham (UoB). Birmingham. Reino Unido.

Professora de Direito e Birmingham Fellow na Universidade de Birmingham, Reino Unido. É licenciada pela Universidade de Wrocław, na Polônia, e pela Universidade Humboldt em Berlim, na Alemanha, e trabalha em universidades do Reino Unido desde 2008. O seu trabalho reúne conhecimentos de estudos sócio-legais sobre cuidados de saúde, teoria jurídica transnacional, sociologia do direito e sociologia das profissões. Como tal, pode ser descrito como fazendo parte da Sociologia do Direito da Saúde - uma nova área de investigação académica que tem vindo a desenvolver nos últimos anos. Dentro destes parâmetros gerais, utiliza o direito da saúde sexual e reprodutiva como um estudo de caso para examinar fenómenos sociais e jurídicos mais amplos. Atualmente, a sua investigação centra-se no desenvolvimento da legislação polaca sobre o aborto, investigando a relação entre as transições políticas, as reformas jurídicas e o desenvolvimento da profissão médica. Também lidera um projeto sobre "Construindo Justiça Reprodutiva com Mulheres Indígenas no Nordeste do Brasil". Colabora com uma série de organizações da sociedade civil e ONGs preocupadas com a melhoria dos direitos sexuais e reprodutivos em diferentes países do mundo.

Pesquisadora de nível pós-doutoral em direito no PPGD/FDR (UFPE). Doutora (University of Manchester) e mestra (Universidade de Brasília, UnB) em direito. Co-investigadora principal do  projeto “Construindo Justiça Reprodutiva com Mulheres Indígenas do Nordeste do Brasil”, financiando pelo AHRC/UKRI. Tem uma formação interdisciplinar, com experiência nas áreas de Relações Internacionais, Comunicação Social e Direito. Especialista em sociologia do direito internacional e direitos humanos, com ênfase na América Latina. Foi visitante professional da Corte Interamericana de Direitos Humanos e pesquisadora na Universidade de Bologna, no Instituto Max Planck Institute de Direito Internacional e Direito Comparativo e na Universidade de Birmingham.  Atualmente realiza pesquisas envolvendo uma Sociologia da Justiça, com foco no funcionamento e eficácia de instituições essenciais para justiça (especialmente cortes e instituições nacionais de direitos humanos) e em sujeitos de direitos humanos tais quais povos indígenas, pessoas com deficiência e mulheres.
