Biografía del autor/a

Atina Krajewska, University of Birmingham (UoB). Birmingham. Reino Unido.

La profesora Atina Krajewska es catedrática de Derecho y Birmingham Fellow en la Universidad de Birmingham, Reino Unido. Es licenciada por la Universidad de Wrocław (Polonia) y la Universidad Humboldt de Berlín (Alemania), y trabaja en universidades británicas desde 2008. Su trabajo aúna conocimientos de estudios sociojurídicos sobre la atención sanitaria, teoría jurídica transnacional, sociología del derecho y sociología de las profesiones. Como tal, puede describirse como parte de la Sociología del Derecho Sanitario, una nueva área de investigación académica que ha estado desarrollando en los últimos años. Dentro de estos amplios parámetros, utiliza el Derecho de la salud sexual y reproductiva como caso de estudio para examinar fenómenos sociales y jurídicos más amplios. Actualmente, su investigación se centra en el desarrollo de la legislación polaca sobre el aborto, investigando la relación entre las transiciones políticas, las reformas legales y el desarrollo de la profesión médica. También dirige un proyecto sobre «Construcción de la justicia reproductiva con mujeres indígenas en el nordeste de Brasil». Colabora con varias organizaciones de la sociedad civil y ONG preocupadas por mejorar los derechos sexuales y reproductivos en distintos países del mundo.

Pesquisadora de nível pós-doutoral em direito no PPGD/FDR (UFPE). Doutora (University of Manchester) e mestra (Universidade de Brasília, UnB) em direito. Co-investigadora principal do  projeto “Construindo Justiça Reprodutiva com Mulheres Indígenas do Nordeste do Brasil”, financiando pelo AHRC/UKRI. Tem uma formação interdisciplinar, com experiência nas áreas de Relações Internacionais, Comunicação Social e Direito. Especialista em sociologia do direito internacional e direitos humanos, com ênfase na América Latina. Foi visitante professional da Corte Interamericana de Direitos Humanos e pesquisadora na Universidade de Bologna, no Instituto Max Planck Institute de Direito Internacional e Direito Comparativo e na Universidade de Birmingham.  Atualmente realiza pesquisas envolvendo uma Sociologia da Justiça, com foco no funcionamento e eficácia de instituições essenciais para justiça (especialmente cortes e instituições nacionais de direitos humanos) e em sujeitos de direitos humanos tais quais povos indígenas, pessoas com deficiência e mulheres.
